Expressions of interest – Flying Fox training

Members Note: Only Rabies-vaccinated members may participate in this training.
We also require all participants to have a COVID vaccination certificate.

If you are interested in becoming a Flying-fox rescuer and carer and have a current Rabies vaccination, please send your Expression of Interest in attending flying-fox training with FAWNA on Sunday 14 August 2022.

Please email your expression of interest to fawna.nsw.inc@gmail.com

Jacquie Maisey, Flying-fox Co-ordinator from Northern Tablelands Wildlife Carers, will deliver the course and it will cover flying-fox rescue and care, raising pups to release, and if time permits will get into more complex topics such as treatment and repair of damaged wing membranes.

Some of you will have met Jacquie when she brought her flying-fox pups to go through FAWNA’s creche and release program.  She started her work with flying-foxes with Northern Rivers Wildlife Carers working closely with the Late Robyn Gough.

Jacquie was one of the formation members of the original FFICN – Flying-fox Information and Conservation Network, a group of flying-fox co-ordinators and carers who used to meet annually.
